Oh, be still my shiny brite heart!

Don't you just love those mottled jewel tones? I am such a sucker for the shiny brites...they are hard to resist. I stopped by one of my favorite antique malls the other day and picked up a few fun items. These little ornaments (all made in Japan) are so sweet and simple. They will be perfect for package toppers or a collage one day. The slightly discolored vintage lace was a fun find. I've never been a big fan of lace, but lately (as the horse ribbon project can attest, I have become insanely addicted to ribbons of all sorts. In fact, I practically hyperventilated when, on my last trip to nyc, I made it to Tinsel Trading Co. and their sister store, The Store Across the Street. Good Lord!! If you haven't been there, you must go check it out. I'm already ADD as it is and when I walked in the door, the room started spinning and all I wanted to do was spin around and around and around to match the crazy good feeling in my head. Okay...I digress...

These happy Little Golden books wanted to come home with me.

And this plastic blue-eyed doll looks like she's ready for a Christmas party. Btw, you may find this hard to believe, but I watched the movie, Miracle on 34th Street for the first time yesterday. I know...I know...what rock have I been living under. (but I have seen all the episodes of Sex and the City and The Closer) "Thank you...thank you soooo very much."
Some beautiful glass buttons, old sequins, a piece of hand-painted ribbon, a swatch of old beaded pink fabric, and those timeless children sitting on Santa pictures.
A piece of Victorian scrap paper...

And remember these? Christmas Seals from The American Lung Association. My mom would get these in the mail and give them to me. I loved playing "office" with these colorful stamps.

And my favorite find of the day (for 3 clams) is this tiny celluloid baby. The lady that owned the booth told me she found this tiny doll in a huge box of photos. It's a miracle it wasn't crushed or even dented. She's a cutie...not even an inch tall. Not sure why her arms are straight up...maybe she's under arrest or turning a back flip.
I hope everyone has a lovely week! I am off to Scottsdale, AZ tomorrow with my sis to celebrate her b-day and hopefully do some more junking. Thanks to my sweet hubbie for helping this frustrated techno-dinosaur with her blogging and picture taking.
